Birthday Party Fun!

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect for Conner's birthday party having never been to Pursuing Picasso. It is one of those pottery places where you can paint pottery. I also wasn't sure how 6 boys would do with a whole hour scheduled to paint!

The girl working there was super nice and the boys were very good. They took their painting very seriously!  All but one of the boys Conner invited was able to come so he was pretty happy!
Conner chose to paint a panther's cup.  I can't wait to see it after it is all done.  You have to wait a week for them to fire the pieces!
They had a separated area (not entirely private so I had to shush the boys towards the end..little boys can only be quiet and focused for so long) and allowed us to bring in cake. Conner wanted an Avenger's cake.  The cake turned out nice. I bought it, but they had to modify a deluxe design to make this size for us so I wasn't sure what to expect. Conner was pleased!
Here is the group. I forgot candles so we did group pictures and then sang happy birthday!
Then presents. Conner was so pleased with his gifts. This card was so funny. You open it up and itsings this whole song about it is a paper cake. Sounds dumb, I know, but it is really funny! Conner got a couple of Ds games, some legos, some transformers, and a cold stone gift card (yes, we have already been there!)

Enjoy cake and ice cream syrup!  I thought I put enough ice in to keep the ice cream cold, but it was pretty much syrup by the time we had it!

Then a little extra unexpected surprise that made Conner's day was he got to have his first sleepover.  One of my friends kept Callie while we took her son to the party. On the way to my friends house to take her son home and pick up Callie, Conner and Josh figured out that Kyle was going to sleepover and wouldn't be home so they thought they should have a sleepover too.  Both sets of parents agreed and Josh spent the night. They had such a good time and for a little brother who often thinks life is unfair...this one day, he couldn't come up with one thing that was unfair at all! LOL LOL

Happy Birthday to my seven year old. Oh how did that happen???  UGH!
