Potty Training Day Four

Well, we certainly are not the family that potty trains our child in one three day weekend.  I never really expected that to work, but I will say that we have made good progress over the weekend and got started in the right direction.

I was nervous this morning because I had to work today and Callie was going to have to go potty with someone other than me and at someone else's house. Callie thinks of the Hansens as her second home so it wasn't strange, but still it was a first. I dropped Callie, her potty, candy, and lots of clothes off with Mel and nervously left hoping for the best.  I felt nervous all morning long until Mel texted that they had some success.

Callie did very well at the Hansens. She had one accident first thing, but that was right after she arrived.  Then mid-morning she told Mel she had to go potty and did. Mel took her after lunch she went again!  I am so proud of her and thankful for Mel to help me tackle this!  I think it helped that Johnny (her potty trained three year old) was super excited about Callie and the potty.  He even tried out her potty to see how it worked. That made me laugh.

This evening got even better.  After Callie woke up from her nap, she was playing and then she got up and said potty to no one in general. She ran down the hallway and to my complete surprise went poo poo in the potty.  We have discovered that she likes to be alone when she goes.

She went pee pee three more times this evening. She just goes in the bathroom and does her business. Then she tells us she went, cheers and asks for candy! we are so proud of her... We are still reminding her every half an hour that pee pee and poo poo goes in the potty, but we are starting to think that this might really work! We aren't counting our eggs before they hatch, but we are getting hopeful.

It was rather funny to us that tonight I had to make an emergency run to the grocery store to buy candy of all things! LOL  Pretty sure I have never done that before.
