Happy Anniversary!

On January 3rd, Jim and I had been maried 15 years. It is so hard to believe it is that long. I feel incredibly blessed to have such a great husband. I definitely love him more after 15 years than I did when we got married (and I loved him a lot then). I couldn't ask for a better friend or person to spend time with.

Anyway, Jim is taking me to Las Vegas for a long weekend to celebrate in February! So we had no plans to exhange gifts or celebrate on the actual day. However, I happened to have this past weekend off from work and Jim thought we should go to Des Moines for an overnight, just for fun. We aren't really the spontaneous type, but on Thursday night Jim called, booked a room, and we picked the kids up from school friday and headed down to the jordan creek area.

We had gotten a couple of anniversary cards with money so we thought'd we'd go out to eat somewhere fun and "celebrate" with the kids our anniversary. We ended up choosing the Cheesecake factory! We had a great meal and the staff was so nice. Conner announced to them that it was my anniversary (not Jim's..just mine he said..Jim laughed and said thats usually how they are! HA!).

We all decided to share a piece of cheesecake for dessert. We got their new red velvet cake cheesecake! Anyway, this is how they brought it out to us.. So fun!!!

The kids loved this as much as us and it was REALLY good! Then we decided to just walk around the mall for a bit after we ate. This turned out to be more fun than we realized as well. We forget how much stuff is new to Callie and how much fun we have (even the boys) watching her experience stuff that is old hat to us!
We stopped at Pottery barn kids and they let Callie push this little stroller all over the store. She loved this and the little desk they had with a pink phone!! The boys explored all the star wars bedding and accessories.
Then we took Callie to the play place for the first time. This was funny. She was totally into this. We had to send Kyle with her to keep her safe, she was in such a hurry to go down all the slides and climb all over everything. I guess we just didn't realize that she had never done this before!

Then we stopped in at the pandora store. I don't think I blogged about this, but Jim gave me a pandora bracelet for Christmas. This wasn't something I ever thought I wanted, but he was so sweet about it that I was really touched. It is really pretty and I was so surprised. Anyway, I wanted to buy a clip bead so that when I took it off, I wouldn't accidently drop beads.

When we got in there, Jim announced that he wanted to purchase a bead or charm in honor of out 15th wedding anniversary! It was so hard to choose. Good thing they were patient! Here is how it looks now (and probably will for awhile!). Although, I know now what sort of beads I like!!
The bead on the right is the wildflower one that Jim gave me with the bracelet, the clip to hold the beads on is on the left and in the middle is the heart charm I picked out in honor of our anniversary.

I guess for not celebrating our anniversary now because we are going on a trip in February, we sure did A LOT of celebrating, huh?
