Sibling Gift Exchange

This year, my brother in law, came up with the idea that we would draw names and give each other homemade gifts. It was really quite a lot of fun and impressive all of the ideas that people came up with! It definitely made for some extra fun (and a little stress prior to Christmas when someone like me picks project more involved that I expected. :) ).

I don't have a picture of Jim's gift, but he gave his sister Megan a gift certificate for 4 hours of home improvement assistance or labor from handyman Jim!

I drew Jim's brother Tyler who is a huge bears fan. Some of our friends recently made corn toss games and several people I know have been talking about them so I made a bears one for my brother in law! Here they are before I put the final clear coat on to seal them! ( I did have some supervision from Handyman Jim and a little assistance when I wasn't quite strong enough, but for the most part, I did this from the cutting, screwing, sanding, and painting!). I should mention to that one of the guys in my small group had recently made these and had extra boards so he gave them to me precut with the circles. :)

These are the bags. I did get a little help from my mother-in-laws vast knowledge of sewing. Some friends from church who are farmers gave me the corn!

Here are the boards! I kind of feel sorry for my brother in law having to store these things... Hey Tyler, if you ever decide you no longer have any room, I know someone who would take them off your hands! They did turn out pretty cool looking, though. I guess I won the prize for the biggest gift. HA!
My sister in law, Kate, made me this really pretty scarf! I have a purple shirt that I think this will look really pretty with! I am kind of excited to wear it tomorrow!
Suzy had Jim. This is great. She made him a Christmas wreath using a tow strap (since he is into four-wheeling). Here it is hanging out by our front door!
There were other cool things like homemade brewed beer with cheeseballs, homemade stocking hats, a homemade blanket, Canned pickles and homemade sausage, and homemade muffins.
Lots of fun!
