Kyle's Soccer Season

Kyle's soccer season was totally different from Conners! Last year, Kyle had a unique but very invested soccer coach. He drilled and pushed Kyle all year to understand the game, the position to play, to pass the ball, work on ball handling etc. This year, Kyle was a totally different kid on the soccer field. I was so incredibly proud of him. He is not the most talented player, but he played his best each and every game. It was like a light bulb went off in his head and somehow he just instinctly knew where he was to be and what to do. It was so fun to see his hard work pay off and for him to have success on the field.

Living in bigger town, the competition in sports will be fierce for spots to play as Kyle gets older so for this one season, it was really exciting to see him being a large contribution to the game. Especially since he did it by playing smart and being more determined.

I love this picture because look at his face...he is so determined and so focused on what he is going to do!

I thought this picture was great because look at his arm...hmmm...he is pushing a little to win the race to the ball don't you think? He did get called a couple of times for contact this season.
Here he is in the midst of three players, trying to make sure that ball doesn't get past him and near the goalie. I am not 100% but pretty sure, he got the ball here.
I thought this was just a cool action shot!
And I loved this one because he made this goal and scored for the second time in this particular game!

I will confess to Kyle getting old enough that at one game, I got a look and one of those slicing of the neck guestures (you know the one that says stop it, kill it, etc) for my over enthusiastic cheering! He started to give me guidelines as to appropriate parental encouragement from the sidelines. HA! Although, when I told him that I couldn't seem to help myself because I was just so proud, he seemed much less concerned with my sideline cheering!

Despite how much I loved watching Kyle play this season, how proud I was of him for doing his best every game, and so happy for him to have some success, I am also VERY happy to see the end of football and soccer season.

I don't have any pictures of Kyle playing football. I bet my mother-in-law might so I will check with her, but Kyle had a great football season this year. He found he really likes to play defense in football. I think one game he had a block, an interception and got three flags. My father-in-law thought he got video of Kyle's interception in football and one of his goals in soccer so when he gets time and can get those to me, I will see if I can share them with you.
