Kyle is home sick today. Yesterday at church, he suddenly looked very pale and wsa complaining of an upset stomach. It was a little sad for him because we are in the midst of a campaign to raise fund to launch our next campus or campuses (among other things like debt reduction). Anyway, the kids had been working on filling some banks to help with children's ministry costs at a new campus. They were pretty excited to get to walk across the stage in big church and place their banks on the stage. Check it out....
Kyle felt too ill to put his bank on the stage so I walked as an "adult helper" with Conner's age group and put his bank there for him while he watched from the balcony. So today Kyle is home sick from school. He is not running a temp like yesterday, but he definitely is not eating much and says his stomach hurts.
I really don't mind having him home especially when he isn't terribly sick. First of all, he totally entertains himself AND he often helps with his little sister to give me a break. This is nice today as I woke up with a pretty upset stomach. Not the end of the world, but I won't be really active today or eating much I don't think! Days home with Callie are hard for me!
Kyle finished up his flag football season. He had such a great season. He has really gotten into playing defense. He had an interception, several batted passes, and tons of flags this season. We were proud of how hard he worked, but more than anything just enjoyed watching him have such a good time.
We have one more week of soccer. I am sure Conner will be delighted for that to be done. He loves having Daddy as his coach, but isn't so fond of soccer! Conner would be the kid who is playing in the back field and decides to sit down in the middle of the game! What makes it worse is that he sat down facing his goal so he couldn't even see when the other team came with the ball. Conner (and kyle) are going to start piano lessons in November and I think that will be of much more interest to Conner!
I am good with Conner not being athletic. I am ok with all of the practices and games for Kyle because he absolutely loves sports and can hardly wait for practice and games, but to have extra crazy schedules for something Conner doesn't love isn't definitely not worth it. I do think Conner will try football next year just so he can see if he likes it (although if he decides he doesn't want to, I'd be good with that).
Work continues to be busy for me! I would say the largest time taker right now is Callie. She just demands a lot of attention and gets into EVERYTHING...ALL OF THE TIME.. That makes for a lot more work. This is not my favorite stage. It is good thing she is so cute and so entertaining because that helps me get through it day to day.
Friday night, we had a free night which is rare around here so we went out to dinner (just KFC) and went shopping for Halloween costumes. Kyle is going to be a desert commando, Conner is going to be Boba Fett and Callie is going to be a cowgirl. We had planned to shop for pumpkins too, but it took a long time for the boys to make final decisions on costumes. Plus Callie was tired so we needed to get back home.
Well, I could go on, but long posts without pictures are usually rather boring so we will call it quits for now. Besides while I was writing this, I am pretty sure Callie has emptied all of the clothes out of her dresser! I better go tell her NO!!!!! Is it naptime yet????
