It is a ?????????????????

We are very happy to say that Tatertot is healthy! We could see all of the fingers, toes, chambers of the heart, kidney's, spine. They found nothing that would give them concern. Kyle was amazed at seeing it all. I think it helped that I showed him ultrasound videos before we went so he knew what to expect!

We have to confess, though, that in our honest human hearts, we were disappointed this morning. Our new precious life was positioned in such way and so uncooperative that the technician was unable to definitely determine the sex of the baby. Based on what she could see, she said she would guess that it is indeed a little girl, but she simply couldn't be sure.

We had no conceived notion as to whether we wanted a boy or girl, we just prayed for healthy. In my heart, though, I so desperately wanted to know. I didn't care either way, I just wanted to know. I wanted to spend the next 4 and half months decorating and planning. I love that part of all of this. Honestly, it is about the only part I do enjoy.

For now, we must sit back and wait the old fashioned way (and I AM NOT OLD FASHIONED!!!). We may take a chance and decorate a room for a little girl anyway just keeping a back up plan in case it is a boy, but other than a home from hospital outfit, we won't do any clothes shopping or anything of that nature. I won't do a neutral themed room because this maybe my one chance to do a little girl room. I don't want to miss that opportunity.

We really want another chance to know more definitely, but we know another ultrasound won't be done if the baby is healthy. That is more important than sex by far. So I guess everything about this pregnancy from start to finish is going to keep me on my toes and remind me that I am not in control!!!
