Happy Birthday to Callie and I!

For most of the pictures surrounding our birthdays, I am going to give you a link to the pictures I posted on facebook. I might post a few more later when I get pictures from my mother in law too. She has a really nice camera so always gets a few more sweet shots then me.

However, I wanted to share a couple of photos here more specifically than I could on facebook.

It has been a fun three days for these Trunnell girls. It started on Sunday afternoon when Jim announced that he and I were going on a birthday date while the kids hung out with my mom.  We had so much fun shopping, eating, and hanging out!  I spent most of my birthday money too!!

Then on Monday, I got tons of facebook, texts, and email birthday wishes plus several cards and small gifts from friends. I also got to do lunch with a friend followed by dinner out with my hubby, mom and in laws.  We had so much fun, the food was fabulous and it was a great experience all around.

When we got home from dinner, Jim, the kids, and my mom showered me with more love. I got money for a cover for my kindle fire, money for a pandora bead to represent Conner, and a new steamer vaccuum. It is so much lighter weight and easier to use than the one I have so I was pretty excited about this.

After we got the kids to bed, Jim and I finished up our plans for Callie's birthday. We planned to keep her birthday very simple this year.  However, I had a special project that I wanted to work on for her. I still had a baby doll crib and a high chair from when I was a little girl. It is amazing to think that I kept it all this time.  I really wanted to pass this down to Callie.  I know she is too young to know the sentimental side to it, but I was o.k. with that.

Jim and I spent quite a bit of time shopping around figuring out what color to paint it, how to replace the broken beads, what fabric to use etc.  Then Jim spent time spray painting and fixing what was broken and then putting clear coat all over it to help it last longer.  I painted on some polka dots. My mother in law helped with the cushion and ruffle for the high chair, plus made a pillow and a blankie for the bed.

Anyway, I was thoroughly pleased with this labor of love.  Callie instantly loved both of them.  Before bed tonight, she tucked all her babies into bed, kissed them all good night, and then got in her own bed. It was SOOO sweet.

Here is the before pieces. As you can see they didn't necessarily match, the bed was missing the bottom, and they were well used. However, keep in mind these are atleast 30 years old (and if I were honest probably a bit more than that!)
A little more close up of the crib.  Amazingly the side rail on the crib still goes up and down!
Here is the finished product.  I think it turned out nice!

This is from another angle so you can see the pillow.

Here are  PHOTOS that I posted on facebook of the rest of the birthday fun (just click on photos to get there). You can see most of Callie's party fun there, but she had a pretty great day.  She really enjoyed her party and knew what to do since she watched me experience it all yesterday.  Except she got way more presents LOL!!! Don't worry, I am not put out, mine were more expensive.
