Just in case... A little bit of Pink!!!!

We had planned when we found out what the baby was to go shopping and buy something new for the baby (boy or girl!). However, we weren't sure after the ultrasound what we should do. By the time we had the second one scheduled it was really too late for shopping plus I already had plans to go see Blind Side with some girlfriends.

Jim and I chatted this morning. We decided that there was no reason not to have my little shopping trip. After all everything was completely returnable and we should know a more certain answer in another week. Of course, logic would say just wait another week, but that was not nearly as fun!

Since the odds were atleast in favor of a girl, I went on a little shopping trip this morning. I let myself for that short time just go with the girl thing and I had SO MUCH fun! I think it is harder with a boy because I already have stuff so it seems irresponsible to buy more whereas for a girl, I have nothing. It was a little surreal shopping for the first time ever in the girl department for my own child. I loved looking at all of the clothes and more practical things like pink boppy covers, pink bumbos, pink or purple pacifiers, bottles, and sippy cups, and looking at little girl bedding etc! If it is a boy, I will just do it all over again, but I still got that fun moment in the girl department.

Truly it was the first time in pregnancy where I think I really enjoyed the process and felt my heartstrings pull in the direction of this life... Here are my little purchases!!

So if it is a litte girl, I know I plan to do the room in green and pink. I plan to paint the walls green and then use various pink (with some green) accessories. I just don't know exactly on fabrics and what not. Anyway, I came across these two little items that I thought would look cute in these shadow boxes that I am thinking about doing in one corner of the room. (Don't worry I have a boy plan too, but I am going with girl for now remember!). I think they are so cute and they weren't expensive at all...
Then who could resist the clothes especially when I happened upon a SALE!!! The outfit on the left would be for next winter was only 2.00!!! The onsies in the middle were only 1.75 for each pair and they say the cutest things on them. The outfit on the right was not on sale, but I just loved it so it was my after the ultrasound outfit. Of course, it was from target so it wasn't outrageous!

One of the best moments of the day was coming home to show Jim the outfits. Before the ultrasound, he was extremely hesitant to entertain any girl talk from me. After the ultrasound, he has been rather quiet and hesitant. He was very supportive of me shopping today saying that he really thought it was a girl, but definitely just wanted more confirmation. Anyway, he was so delighted with the clothes that I picked out. Then to totally make my day he says, "Oh you need to get one of those little headbands with the flowers on it to go with that outfit!" I said "really?" He said with complete seriousness, "yes, they are so cute!" He is going to be a GREAT DADDY to a little girl now isn't he??????

Anyway, it was a fun morning and great memories for me to treasure in my heart (and YES I am saving all of the receipts!)...
